Launched on the 5th of June, Deliveroo has partnered with restaurant partners and the LGBTQ+ youth homelessness charity the Albert Kennedy Trust to provide free meals to members of the LGBTQ+ community who are experiencing homelessness, or are in need of food or shelter.
The trial initiative begins this Pride Month across over 11 restaurant sites in London, Brighton and Bristol. Members of the community can say “I’m a friend of Dorothy” or even just “Dorothy” at the participating restaurants before ordering, and it will unlock a free main meal as well as additional resources on how they can receive help via the AKT charity discreetly.
Alongside this campaign, we are also collaborating with the participating restaurants to encourage customers to play an active part and make donations to AKT through in-restaurant posters, window stickers, and QR codes.
Participating restaurants include The Athenian, Smashing Plates, Tonkotsu, Club Mexicana, Bleecker Burger and Hank’s Dirty for the initial trial.

From 05/06/2023 until all meals have been redeemed, say you are a ‘Friend of Dorothy’ at the till point at any participating restaurant Tonkotsu, Club Mexicana, The Athenian, Bleecker and Smashing Plates to receive a free select meal, while stock lasts and subject to availability. Limit of 1 meal per customer per day. Offer is not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
